In declarations to Spanish daily AS, Iker Casillas recognized that winning Euro 2008 was one of his career goals.
On behalf of all Spanish fans, thank you.
We finally did it. This is amazing. We're still don't realize what we've accomplished. We're looking forward to celebrating in Spain.
As team captain, you had the honor of lifting up the trophy. How did that feel?
It's was an amazing feeling. After so many matches with the national team, I was getting anxious to finally win something, and now I can say I've accomplished one of my career goals.
Spain is going wild right now.
We know how united Spain has been and the country came together to support this team. Making everyone happy make us happy too. They deserved this after so many years of agony.
Does this victory represented the start of a new chapter for the national team?
Of course. We've done away with the ghosts of the quarterfinals and went out as champions. We were getting tired.
