Real Madrid's participation in the Emirates Cup is creating a huge buzz, so much so that no tickets remain for their much anticipated match against Arsenal.
The preseason tournament scheduled for August 2nd and 3rd will pit Real Madrid against Hamburg and Arsenal. Teams receive three points per victory, one per draw, and one per goal scored.
Last year's participants included Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Valencia. Arsenal were crowned champions after tallying 10 points, three more than PSG, five ahead of Valencia, and nine ahead of Inter.
The silver cup was designed by Thomas Fattorini, whose family has been designing trophies for English football since 1827. "We wanted to create a design very different than other international football trophies. Something that a club would be proud to display in its trophy cabinet," said Fattorini.
