Real Madrid

This season's league was marked by the "We All Form the Same Team" motto. Bernd Schuster took the reins of the squad and the club signed Robben, Metzelder, Sneijder, Saviola, Pepe, Heinze, Drenthe and Dudek to help take the championship.

Many disregarded this season's competition as a weak edition, but the truth is Real Madrid were leaders from the very beginning. Their first victory was on Matchday 1 against Atletico Madrid (2-1). This was followed by their impressive 5-0 victory in Villarreal. Several weeks later, on Matchday 17, the Whites traveled to Barcelona for the first Clasico of the season and defeated the eternal foe 1-0. 

As time went on, Madrid distanced themselves further on the table, eventually reaching a 10-point cushion over Villarreal and an 11-point lead on Barcelona. The Madridistas eventually took the title on Matchday 35 gainst Osasuna in Navarra, after turning the score around with brilliant goals by Robben and Higuaín (2-1).
