Several Real Madrid basketball players expressed how upset they were after losing decisive Game 3 to TAU and being eliminated from playoff contention.
Sergi Llull:
“We fought until the end and left out hearts on the court, but TAU won because they were more accurate. Home-court advantage was once again decisive.”
“No one likes to be eliminated, which is why we are mad. We need to think about resting up and winning a title next season.”
Felipe Reyes:
“We weren't on target tonight, especially in the closing minutes. We tried our best.”
“It's time for us to suffer. We are very sad for having lost and been eliminated.”
Mumbru:
“It's a shame. We had a good series but we didn't play our best ball in the final five minutes. We made stupid mistakes and missed easy baskets.”
“They gave us up for dead before the series began and we were on the verge of making the final. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and we are upset.”
Hervelle:
“I think we played well. We played good basketball and were very physical, but we coulnd't make it to the final.”
“The officiating hurt us. It's hard to play so long with the other team in a bonus situation. Bullock was also in early foul trouble.”
“We are upset because we worked so hard all season long and weren't able to make it any further.”
Bullock:
“We are going home knowing we could have won. We didn't expect a start like the one we had, but I don't mean that we lost the game in the first thirty seconds. I always raise my hand when I commit a foul, but I didn't touch the guy on the foul I was called for.”
“I am a proffesional and I am hurt by what took place. We did try our best. It's a shame I couldn't help my team down the stretch, but my knee had had enough.”
“Congrats to TAU, but I am not happy. I always play this game with my whole heart. I won't be able to forget this game all summer long.”
