Seven players from the first team have been training thirteen days in a row with Real Madrid Castilla. After attending the 12th UEFA Elite Club Coaches’ Forum, Jose Mourinho returned to continue supervising the sessions. He was joined today by Castilla coach Alejandro Menendez. The session lasted for an hour and thirty minutes, during which ball work took centre stage.
Only Pepe, Marcelo, Dudek, Pedro Leon, Adan, Granero and Mateos have been training at Valdebebas this week.
The squad was divided into three groups of eight to tackle ball exercises in which the number of players who passed the ball or had to make steals alternated. Ten minutes later, the players practiced shooting from outside the box on goals defended by the keepers. Two of the groups played a 9 on 9 practice game, while the other group practiced finishing off crosses from the wings.
Marcelo left the session early due to being sick with gastroenteritis and to having a slight pain on his left ankle.
Real Madrid will train again tomorrow at 10:00 CET and will have the day off on Sunday.
