Eight teams have fallen prey to Real Madrid in league action overthe last eight weeks: Malaga, Deportivo La Coruña, Espanyol, Xerez, Villarreal, Tenerife, Sevilla and most recently, Valladolid.
Manuel Pellegrini has joined the prestigious club of Real Madrid coaches to earn eight consecutive victories in La Liga. Only ten others achieved this before him.
Miguel Muñoz was the first back in the 1960/61 season. He was followed by Luis Molowny, Leo Beenhakker, Radomir Antic, Vicente Del Bosque, Bernd Schuster and Juande Ramos.
.
The team's victory against Valladolid last weekend allowed Pellegrini to pass Carniglia, Boskov and Luxemburgo and do exactly what Beenhakker, Del Bosque, Schuster and Antic managed to pull off: eight straight victories. These coaches went on to win the title after achieving such a feat.
