Gonzalo Higuain discussed the team's chances on Wednesday and the solid form seen in recent weeks during a chat with Spanish newspaper El Pais.
"In Lyon they closed their lines and were very strong physically speaking, but we have a team that can turn this tie around. Winning this match is what is important. It is what this project was built for, especially with the final being played at the Bernabeu"
"I hope I am able to score. I know we will do whatever we can to win this tie."
"I love competing and I am a professional. I think this way because some days things may go your way and others they might not. You can't let you emotions get the best of you and lose concentration and motivation to continue trying. This is what I learned when I first started and it is what has made me grow as a player and person. My dad would teach me how to think like this, but I also learn a lot from my teammates. I love football. This is my sport."
"Every time I walk onto the pitch to play I want to prove that I want to continue playing here. I may not play as well as I would like, but I will always put forth my best effort."
"My status since joining Real Madrid just happened. It isn't something I planned. I now want to pass my mark of 24 goals that I set last season. That is my goal."
