Real Madrid started preparing for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Olympique Lyonnais just hours after defeating Sevilla 3-2 at the Bernabeu and grabbing the top position of the Spanish league table.
Following Pellegrini's team talk, the squad jogged around the pitch and then divided into four groups. The first comprised yesterday's starters: Casillas, Kaka, Xabi Alonso, Abiol, Arbeloa, Higuain, Garay, Lass and Marcelo. They jogged and did stretching exercises to recover from last night's strain.
The second group was formed by Guti, Gago, Diarra, Van der Vaart, Granero, Raul and Metzelder, who played piggy-in-the-middle and tackled an obstacle course devised by fitness trainer Jose Cabello.
The third group comprised Dudek and Real Madrid C keeper Tito (Adan was playing a match with Castilla), who trained under the supervision of Xavier Mancisidor.
Finally, the fourth group was made up by Cristiano Ronaldo and Ramos, who did recovery exercises in the gym with the injured Benzema and Drenthe.
