Real Madrid are set to face LA Galaxy in their first friendly of the preseason less than a month before the official start to Jose Mourinho's second season at the helm of the team. The game will give fans a chance to see new signings Varane, Coentrao and Callejon in action.

Fans are about to witness the birth of the 2011/12 Real Madrid side, excited by the fact Jose Mourinho's second seasons on all of his previous teams were always the best, and by having a young and ambitious squad that has been strengthened with five new signings.

Coentrao, Callejon and Varane have attended eight training sessions with their new team and they will probably make their debut against the American side. Nuri Sahin will miss the match due to a Grade I sprain on the internal lateral ligament of the left knee.

LA Galaxy are well into their own league season and have played more games than the Whites at this point. The team was undefeated in its last 12 league clashes. Galaxy will be even more dangerous due to how motivated they are to face Real Madrid.

The squad features the talents of former Madridista David Beckham, team captain Landon Donovan (also captain of the US national team) and Colombian striker Juan Pablo Angel, who won the 'Torneo Apertura y Clausura' with River Plate and played six years for English side Aston Villa. Former US national coach Bruce Arena has the reins of the team.

LA Galaxy are one of the ten founding clubs of the MLS, which started in 1996. They have won the title twice and are second in the ranking to DC United, who have four titles. Galaxy are, along with DC, the only US club to win the Concacaf.
