Real Madrid will face Benfica on 27 June at Da Luz Stadium as part of the Eusebio Cup. The clash between the most honoured sides of Spain and Portugal will serve to pay homage to the legendary player.
In just under four years, the Eusebio Cup has featured leading teams such as Inter Milan, AC Milan, Tottenham and Arsenal. Real Madrid will be the first Spanish club to participate.
The fixture will serve to remember the great clashes between Real Madrid and Benfica of the 1960s, when Eusebio, Di Stefano and Gento were still active. It will be a clash between two clubs that are over 100 years old and serve as ambassadors to their country, and whose main stars back when they first made their mark on the international scene were Eusebio and Di Stefano.
